Brown Aveda Institute hosted its annual scholarship competition on March 15 at LaCentre in Westlake, Ohio.
Many impressive candidates and their models showed up and proudly displayed their hair and makeup talents while competing for scholarships to attend Brown Aveda Institute.
A highlight of the event was hearing thoughts and inspiration behind the Institute from co-founder Nancy Brown. Nancy shared the impact of the Brown Aveda in the industry locally:
- Over 3000 graduates since the school was founded in 1997
- 30 graduates have opened their own salons
- Over $1 million in scholarships have been awarded by Brown Aveda since 2001
Nancy recalled how her own experience receiving a scholarship at age 15 literally changed her life. She is forever grateful, and sees the value in continuing to pay it forward to those who have a passionate desire to share their art with the world. Stylists, students and competition candidates are indeed all artists, and their gifts should be spread to all.
Brown Aveda Institute espouses the philosophy of the valuing relationships with each other and with customers. A team approach, going through transformational experiences together, is at the core of the relationships we foster.
